Why I am Running
Because I believe in the values of the United States of America, the sacred nature of the oath of office, and I have the desire, and will to serve the people of the 9th Congressional District. I will always choose values over politics, the future of America over my own career, and I will never be afraid to risk my job to fight the hard fights.
As a new parent, I fear for the future of my daughter and the America she will be growing up in. Our kids are facing unprecedented complex challenges, which requires the specific knowledge of those who were raised in the 21st century.
The 9th District can and needs to do better. Who we have representing us is not the best of us, and her actions in power have drastically veered from the desires of the district over her long time in office. We cannot let partisan political loyalties or Springfield choose our representative.

Understandably, pessimism and hopelessness resides on every street corner, block, and home of the 9th Congressional District of Illinois.
This is because gerrymandering has explicitly taken away the power of the people to democratically choose their representative, giving the authority instead to the ruling party in the capitol.
